Wavy Rider is Pentargon's butty and sails with her, but in the past week has been separated and tied to a tree in Warwick for the interim, while I use Pentargon as a water taxi. I've been in Warwick for a month now and sometimes it is easier to use the boat rather than the bus. Sunday I drove up to a local chandlers for paint. Yesterday in the other direction I went to LIDL and last night I slept in the boondocks. Wavy waited patiently. Time to move on. There is no more to do in Warwick. Leamington Spa is only a mile or two east the road. Wavy needed to be hitched up for the ride so very early this morning I retrieved her and then made this blogshow to illustrate how typical my days are when it is time to strike camp. I am in Leamington at W3W wipe.spice.itself, me and Wavy and Pentargon and the latter has had a face clean up a touch of white at the bow end. I'm groceried from Morrisons which is just yards from the boat and Morry's is always a good port of call. It is after 4o/c and time to go on line to renew Wavy's insurance for the next twelve months ... Hey! This is about Wavy Rider. The story goes back some years when I first laid out my wish list for a tender. Those times I was haunting London mostly and came across this rather neat little fibreglass cabin cruiser which really caught my eye. It was 18' overall and was being lived in. I reckoned that must be the smallest boat that could possibly be lived in but I was not in a position to buy it at the time. Over the years I saw two others and established they were built in Essex? in the early 60s. The wanderer had a sliding roof which when closed made them waterproof. But no-one was selling whenever I had money to burn. Then I came up to the Midlands and one day came across a Wanderer out in the boondocks looking forlorn and for sale. This time I had some money to burn and the owner was in an awful hurry to get rid of it as the waterways authority was on his case. Suffice I suddenly owned a Wanderer 565 with no sliding roof and no provinence which I hitched to Pentargon and she has been following me since.
