HUM IN MY HEAD ...
When my head is quiet, mind working quietly I like to think. My brain runs on automatic and seldom stops except when I am asleep. Perhaps that's why I never dream or at least I never recall having them. I think my brain is so exhausted when I fall asleep that it falls asleep too. I wonder do I have REM at night and the deepest alpha rhythms or do I just die without dying in my sleep? ... SLEEPING I sleep well in solitude. liking to be cool but not cold. liking to be warm but not hot. liking to be cool when I'm warm and being warm when I'm cool. WAKING When I'm awake my favourite sounds are especially the sounds of silence Try listening to silence while awake. You may hear a bird chirp or a bee hum or the drone of a motorway, or a distant car or a plane eight miles up. LISTENING Silence has its own sound. There is no such thing as silent silence and the more silent it becomes the more you hear when you listen But in noise you can't hear anything but noise not even the wasted sound of a nightingale. This leads on to the prose essay "NIGHTINGALE"
