In my off-grid environment water is poured into a [Buckby?]  jug from a gravity stand-pipe in my utility room from a store of 200 litres in a black plastic tank tucked into the nose of the boat under my bed and refilled about twice a year. 

In my off-grid environment shit is recycled via a composting toilet to produce fertile loam wherein tomatoes are grown from seeds which have traversed my digestive system on an earlier date. 

Others store their excrementals in plastic tanks until the stink is so unbearable they have to lug [the tank] to a 'sanitary point' whose presence may announce itself from half a mile away in the right wind. They will take the opportunity at this place to fill up their water tanks as often as once a week.

Pentargon will sail gaily past these cesspools ​to more salubrious bournes far from the madding crowds.

The on-gridders do all they can to make their bogs look like house ones and they do all they can to have them work the way house ones do.  They expect their outcomes to vanish once they pull the chain.  In house excreta is eventually disposed of by Council Wizardry and often ends up in canals.
