Storm Katie hit the UK on Easter Monday 2016 with gusts of over 100mph recorded in exposed locations. A Severe Weather Warning for strong winds had been issued, with southern England predicted to bear the brunt of it. The Met Service expected winds to ease in south-western Britain from mid-morning, this improvement reaching other areas by late afternoon or early evening. Southern England experienced very strong winds from the early hours.
"Monday has potential for 50-60mph gusts inland". "Additional hazards may include large waves around exposed coasts and a period of heavy rain". "Be aware of potential disruption to outdoor activities and travel, and the possibility of fallen trees and interruptions to power supplies."
I took Pentargon up through Reading's infamous Brewery Gut and tied her above County lock for the blow
