Some ideas for future artistic development on Pentargon
Curly Wurly started this project by examining possible designs, concepts and colour scheme possibilities before plumping for something which would reflect the blue and white geometric wrap seen on a boat at Uxbridge.
The three dimensional concept echos the DPD logo and an art project I did sixty years ago. The Uxbridge example, while striking, was too regimented and rigid, not appropriate to the laid-back life which I consider nirvana: a place of perfect peace and happiness, a state of enlightenment from where a person's individual desires and suffering go off-grid.
I also thought I should [try] to achieve a paint scheme that echoed the original colours of Pentargon as I first saw her in a magazine in 2012 and later afloat and that was dark blue, light blue, white. A building I came across in Peterborough with a "random brick" finish, and dark blue, light blue, white colours intrigued me. and I reckoned this concept would work well below gunnel level to alleviate the boredom of acres of white. Acres of white? I hate blacking and I hate black. There would be no black on my boat.
