This shot seems out of place but the further boat contains one of my brudders returning to his home mooring after a three-year circumnavigation of the Globe.
He is followed by his previous boat in which he and others crossed the Atlantic many times. We are a sailing family.

HOW did I get here?
Sailing and the sea runs in the family, four of the five of us being in the 'able' to 'very able' category. Two brothers have crossed the Atlantic more than once and one of them has circumnavigated the globe.
A sister is a skilled dinghy sailor and ocean navigator with a skipper's ticket and experience of sailing all over the world.
About 2008, my wife, in her wisdom, decided I might look at inland waterways. Although competent in boats, she has no interest: She had heard of escapades at sea and worried that I might someday be brought home to her in a body bag ... "or not at all" ... This convinced me
I'd had a fair innings.
In 2008, I joined a canal charity in Harlow doing onshore maintenance of their fleet and later taking people out who were less lucky than I've been in life.
